The real big thing!
The ultimate level of future! Innovations are changing the world. And some contribute to its rescue!

A revolutionary deep drilling technology will enable us to produce CO2-free energy everywhere in the future, transforming deserts into oases and experiencing our wonderful world in its third dimension!

The Top 4 Global Challenges:

Regenerative, base-load power supply

Green heat supply

Green hydrogen

Fresh water supply

The disruptive solution to these challenges:
Revolution through laser drilling and jacking technology!

"Green electricity" example:

How is CO2-free electricity generated so far?

Comparison of drilling methods:
today
future
Conventional drilling methods (e.g. roller bits) achieve drilling depths of up to 5,000 m @ 140 °C/284 °F
Laser drilling enables drilling depths up to approx. 15,000 m @ 500 °C/932 °F
Deep drilling requires telescope tubing and subsequent cementing to keep the walls stable
Deep drilling utilizes a glazed shaft tube and self-supporting wall
Drilling progress in hard rock is approx. 1-2 m per hour
Drilling progress in hard rock exceeds 20-30 meters per hour
Drill string and drill head are cooled with a liquid suspension for drilling (up to a maximum of 160 °C/320 °F)
Electric drill string and head are held on working temperature using liquid nitrogen
Destruction of groundwater aquifers and contamination of the soil by flushing into the mountain formation
A closed nitrogen cycle and a glazed drill hole wall prevent any contamination of groundwater aquifers
Constant danger of microquakes due to enormous water pressure and permanent vibrations
No danger of microquakes as vertical and diagonal tubes with no seismic effects are burned down to a depth of approx. 15,000 m. No fracking is used!
To take samples from the depth, the drill string has to be removed elaborately and completely
The geophysical probe installed at the drill head supplies all necessary data regarding the rock layers etc. to the control station - continuously and in real time
The drill head (roller bit) must be renewed every 20-30 hours, i.e. permanent "round trips" of the drill string are required
The electric drill string is controllable and deflectable (i.e. suitable for vertical and diagonal drilling), a change of cathode is only required approx. every 25.000 hours
The drilling costs amount to as much as € 20 to 30 million for a depth of approx. 5,000 m
For comparison: Costs for Laser drilling amount to approx. € 5 million per drill hole for a drilling depth of approx. 5,000 m

Exemplary applications of laser drilling technology

The production costs for a generated kilowatt hour of electricity in a deep geothermal power plant with heat from the laser drilling and jacking process are about 3.5 ct/kWh. In 2021, this price was only achieved by ground-mounted PV plants, whose generated electricity is not base-load-capable. (Cf. Figure Fraunhofer ISE)
